Thoughts about Internext, January ‘08

When I first arrived at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas,
I was skeptical about making the trip to Internext this
year. AdultChamber was to have a Kiosk, which in reality
was just a six-foot table. How could such a simple display
give the impact of a double booth, which is something
we have arranged with AVN every year since 2000. When
I walked into the Rain Nightclub where the expo was
to be held, there was our table, right at the entrance.
Looking up, there was a second level where alcoves with
sofas housed many of the most popular companies in our
industry; VideoSecrets, AWempire (Adult Webmaster Empire),
CCbill, Epoch, PussyCash, Verotel, and SegPay, just
to name a few.
As it turned out, the staff at Internext did one heck
of a job. When the exhibit area opened, everyone was
facing a stack of plates and they made their way to
the lunch buffet. The mood was set and everyone seemed
to stay in the exhibit area (The Rain NightClub) until
it closed. Why did they stay? Well, the exhibitors were
spread all around the nightclub, plenty of seating existed,
and SegPay had a fully staffed free bar, basically serving
anything you could dream up. I am not talking about
a portable bar. This was a huge bar in their exhibit
space reserved for the rich and famous when the nightclub
is open to the public on weekends. The raised center
dance floor, and the sofas surrounding it, was taken
by the staff at Adult Webmaster Empire where it was
clear that real business was conducted.
To summarize, which is virtually impossible, I would
have to say that the staff at Internext took a great
chance in changing the format of the show. But, the
end result was a show where real business was conducted
in an environment that only expensive and time consuming
planning could have possibly achieved. The seminars
were the best that Internext ever had. The panels
that made up the seminars were truly professional.
Without a doubt, this was THE best webmaster show
we have ever attended. Have no doubt, we will be
at the Summer Internext show in Hollywood, Florida
in August. This is the time for everyone to make
plans to be in south Florida for this upcoming event.
I heard that they are changing the format as well
for the summer show, although it will remain at the
beautiful Diplomat Hotel, but the booths will be … Well, just wait until they release
all their info. Suffice it say, every webmaster who
wants to network and do business, should be in attendance
